An ecological superbike? Yes, you’ve heard right. Vectrix Electric Super Bike is the world’s first electric superbike. Designed by Robert Brady and tested on the Vallelunga circuit in Italy, the superbike can reach 200km/h and it was able tu run 20 laps without recharging the battery. Beside this, another strenght of the bike is that the exhaust, the fuel system and the engine are missig making the bike very light.

The design is futuristic and the first thing that crossed my mind when is saw the pictures was Batman riding it. Anyway don’t expect it to compete in MotoGp any soon, but I am glad to see that people are getting more and more interested in renewable energy.

I’m not sure how running on a battery makes it renewable energy. The battery has to be charged from somewhere, and that means electricity from coal, nuclear, or some other non-green source.

Sweet bike, I want one!!! And as to chrism’s comment… the obvious answer is that electricity CAN be produced renewably, unlike burning fossil fuel inside an engine. Duh.

re commnet by “chrism” - perhaps you’ve heard of solar electric? the availability of clean electric, ie zero carbon footprint, via photovoltaic cells is now pretty common. you can power your home and/or build a little PV carport to park your smokin fast Vectrix supermoto under… clean, clean, clean & green ! ! !
