Mitsubishi’s MMR25 Rally Racer is a concept that have been introduced at LA Auto Show Design Challenge. The MMR25 is supposed to be the rally car of 2025, but will it be able to fully erase the remembrance of the Lancer Evolution?

Of course the MMR25 is hi-tech, is eco-friendly, is arodinamic, but were will be the roar of the engine? Being the first and only 8×4 wheel drive car the MMR25 will be able to go sideways too. Yes, you’ve heard right 8×4 wheel drive: each wheel of the concept has eight little wheels for greater maneuvrability and better traction.

Mitsubishi Motors thought about everything and introduced the “oblique aerodynamics” so the wind resistance doesn’t count when you drive sideways. Wondering how you will be able to see without no windshields? The answer is a camera that gives you a 360-degree panoramic view via a screen that surrounds you in the cockpit.

With batteries lasting for 1,000 miles I am wondering if Mitsubishi wants to conquer the Paris-Dakar Rally too. Anyway we’ll have to wait 17 more years to see if this is just a good-looking hi-tech car or if it will be able to rivalize with the nowadays rally cars.
