A New Landmark On Paris’ Skyline - The Green Generali Tower

Generali Tower

Is now said that the Eiffel Tower will have a rival on the Paris skyline. Who is the rival? The Generali Tower, which is a innovator project that wants to strengthen La Defense’s position of one the biggest business districts in Europe. Located at the westernmost extremity of Paris’ 10-km long Historical Axis, La Defence will surely brag with the 318 meters construction.

The Generali Tower will be build by Vinci Immobilier in association with Group Generali. Being a green building, the tower will have numerous environmental systems. It features 18 wind turbines, 1,700 sq m of photovoltaic cells and 600 sq m of solar panels, all this being the tower’s renewable source of energy. The building will also have an auditorium, club lounges, restaurants and a nursery all this possible thanks to its total of 90,000 sq m.

Form now on Semiramis will not be the only one with suspended gardens, because the Generali Tower will have one at every level, because the designers may want to improve air’s quality. Anyway I personally think it will look extraordinary and it is announced to be completed in 2012.

Generali Tower

The Generali tower is part of EPAD’s modernisation campaign and after the completion of the project it will become one of the greatest green buildings in Europe, making La Defence not only a great commercial center, but also a great place to visit thanks to its slim silhouette.
