I guess you’ve heard of the forthcoming Intel CPU called Nehalem. Well, from now on, you will have to call it “Core i7″ as Intel announced that they will keep their branded name “Intel Core processor.” Although they will begin manufacturing this microarchitecture in the Q4 of this year, the processors will be launched next year and there will also be an “Extreme Edition.”

“The Core name is and will be our flagship PC processor brand going forward. Expect Intel to focus even more marketing resources around that name and the Core i7 products starting now,” said Sean Maloney, Intel Corporation executive vice president and general manager, Sales and Marketing Group.

Don’t know about you, but I think that this 7th generation will be great, however, I don’t understand why they used “i”. I think heard this before, oh yeah, Apple’s products. We will have to wait and see if Apple has something to do with Intel’s i7.
