Nokia finally unveiled their future greatest cellphone! What do I mean? It’s the N97 which looks great, but the features will make it one of the best ever! So far, Nokia only developed “multimedia computers” like the N80, N85, N95, N95 8GB, and N96. However, Nokia can really say that the N97 will be a true competitor against Apple’s iPhone and T-Mobile’s G1.

The N97 will feature a 3.5-inch 640×360 touchscreen display, a sliding full-QWERTY keyboard, A-GPS, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and Carl Zeis lens, 32GB of on-board memory and a microSD card slot with a memory up to 16GB.

In order to make it more stable, Nokia has prepared the Symbian S60 v5 OS which touchscreen enhancement, and it seems like it will be slightly better than 5800’s. The touchscreen Nseries cellphone will feature 3G with HSDPA, Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), Wi-Fi, Nokia Maps v3, FM radio, TV-Out, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The desktop of the N97 will be fully customizable which is great because you can add widgets like RSS feeds and Facebook, or sharing sevices like Share on Ovi. The battery life will be excellent with 37 hours of music playback and about 5 hours of video playback.

Well, Nokia announced that the N97 will be out in the first-half of 2009 for a price of €550. Kinda expensive, but maybe until then the economical crisis will be over!

The Nokia N85 is now available so it’s a good opportunity to remind us what the Finnish company prepared for us with this new cellphone. The N85 is a two-way slider which measures 103×50x16.0mm and it weighs 128 grams. The screen is a 2.6-inch QVGA OLED display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, brightness control, and ambient light detector.

Like other Nokia cellphones, the keypad is numeric, also there are cover, short slide, and multimedia keys. For the moment, the N85 is available in only one color - Copper. The handset will be smaller and cheaper than the N96, but the list of specs is impressing with all key features included.

Micro-USB connector, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm jack, Symbian v9.3 OS, 74 MB internal dynamic memory, 78 MB internal NAND flash memory, microSD card slot up to 8GB, Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, 3.6Mbps HSDPA, WLAN 802.11b / 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0, Built-in GPS, Nokia Maps 2.0, Java support and web browsing are only a few of Nokia’s N85 features.

I shouldn’t forget about the two cameras, one 5 megapixel camera with CMOS sensor, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, dual-LED Flash, and a 20 x digital zoom, while the other one is specially designed for video calls.

The battery life is satisfying enough with 7 hours of talk time and 363 hours in standy. The Nokia N85 is available for a price of €450. Well, hurry up and get it and tell us how it works!

Fujitsu just won’t stop amaze us. It’s latest invention is a concept phone with a screen that can be separated from the keypad. The novel system, which was revealed at CEATEC, lets you configure your phone as you like as the position of the screen on the keypad determines the function of the phone and what the touchscreen will show.

The screen and the keypad stick together thanks to the force of some tiny magnets. Another feature of the amazing phone is that you can use the two parts separately: the screen module is responsible with the software functions, video recording and games, while the keyboard module contains the communication tasks including 3G and radio.

Though it may never see the sun light, Fujitsu’s concept phone is indeed great and, personally, I would love to have one, so please let me know your opinion about this concept.

Although it was announced quite a while ago, the Nokia N96 will be bought by customers as of October 1st. I think this is a good thing that Nokia did, to wait until now. Probably they wanted to test the cellphone in order to make it almost perfect.

We all know that the N95 was a big hit, as well as the N95 8GB which is one of the coolest handsets ever. Though it didn’t get too much attention like the iPhone 3G or the HTC Dream, the N96 will be enjoyed by lots of people as Nokia is developing solid cellphones that will not crash.

The only problem that Nokia has, is the Symbian OS now at 9.3 version which still has many issues. Besides that, the N96 will feature 16GB internal flash memory, a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT screen, a 5-megapixel camera, 128MB RAM, 256MB system memory, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a MicroSD slot and a 950 mAh battery which runs 4 hours of talk time and 10 days in standby.

The Nokia N96 will be available in Europe for a price of €550. If you think this is much, then you are wrong as the spec list also includes Bluetooth stereo audio (A2DP), USB 2.0 connectivity, Stereo FM and Internet radio, Java and it supports WCDMA2100/900 (HSDPA) / EGSM900, GSM850/1800/1900 MHz, and I could go on for hours. I can’t wait to get my hands on one!

If someone said to me a few years ago that a I will have a hard time in choosing a 8-megapixel cellphone, I would call him crazy. Well, the handsets with 8-megapixel camera entered on the market a while ago and as of October 15th we will be able to buy another one - the LG Renoir aka KC910.

Besides the 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, xenon flash, video capture, and face detection, the LG Renoir will feature a 3-inch touchscreen with a 240×400 resolution, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, HSDPA, and USB 2.0. The spec lists also includes FM Radio, MicroSD expansion slot, and Dolby Mobile Software. The LG KC910 has only flaw - the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Personally, I would choose the Samsung INNOV8 over the Renoir, but LG didn’t announce a price for the 8-megapixel candybar yet. So, let’s wait for October 15th when we will be able to compare the two cellphones.

It looks that BMW, the Bavarian designer, wants to put his magical fingers into the cellphones industry. Nokia and the Germans are teaming up to make a stylish cellphone. As you can see the design is incredible, but that’s not all. As we expected the concept-phone is very hi-tech too, coming with an innovator “push to open” mechanism. Nokia BMW Video Phone also features GPS navigation.

Wondering why they called it Nokia BMW Video Phone? The “Push to open” mechanism allows its display to rotate 90 degrees and there you have your own handycam. Anyway don’t expect it to land on the stores shelves too soon because, for the moment, there are no words if the product will ever be developed therefore it may never see the sunlight.

Sony Ericsson is trying to revolutionize the world of cellphone cameras as they will integrate a 8-megapixel camera into the C905. The plans of the company might be ruined by Samsung which announced that they will release a cellphone with a camera like that in the UK soon.

The camera is very powerful and it will feature Cybershot, auto-focus, image stabilizer and a 16x digital zoom. Pretty impressive, right? You will also be able to create a photo album and to view videos in playback. Pay attention to this, if you are in a dark spot and you are trying to record something, a second flash will make your life a whole lot easier.

The photos will be viewed on a 2.4-inch TFT display and it seems like the camera manages to work on 3264 x 2448 pixels at 30 FPS. Sony Ericsson C905 features a GPS with geotagging photos, FM radio, an advanced media player, 160 MB of internal memory, a 2 GB micro card which is expandable up to 32 GB, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Sony Ericsson C905 Cybershot should be available sometime October, but for the moment we don’t know anything about the price. My guess is that it will be a little too expensive due to the 8-megapixel camera so we will have to wait and see what amount they want to take away from our pockets.

It seems like the AT&T HTC Touch Pro is available for a moderate price of $900. Hard to believe? Well, there are pictures to prove it (hopefully they are not photoshopped and this is just the European version) and the user from the XDA Dev forums says that he got it with “half the specs of the Euro version.” However, he also added that his “US version works on 3G” and as far as I can tell, he is very happy. Check the pics and tell us what you think!
